General
What is ConvoTag?
A tool that adds curated symbol tags to the start of your Claude.ai conversation titles. The tags are saved through Claude’s own rename API, so they persist across devices and browsers.
Does it work with ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity?
Not in v1. Claude.ai only. Each LLM uses a different internal API for renaming conversations. Multi-LLM support is planned for v2.
Does it work on the Claude mobile app?
You can tag conversations on desktop and see the tags in the mobile app, but you cannot apply new tags from the mobile app.
Is my data safe?
ConvoTag runs entirely in your browser. It makes one API call to Claude.ai’s own servers to rename a conversation — the same call Claude.ai makes when you manually rename. No data leaves your computer except what already goes to Anthropic. ConvoTag has no server, no database, and no analytics of what you tag.
The site you purchase from collects standard Stripe payment data (handled by Stripe) and basic visit analytics (page views, no identifying information).
Purchase and delivery
How does delivery work?
After Stripe checkout you’re redirected to an install page containing the tagger for your purchased taxonomy. Drag it to your bookmarks bar — you’re installed. Stripe also emails you a receipt with the install page URL.
What if I lose the install link?
Email support@convotag.com with your Stripe receipt. We’ll send you the URL.
What’s your refund policy?
If you’d like to request a refund within 7 days, please email support@convotag.com with your Stripe receipt.
Using ConvoTag
Can I have multiple taxonomies installed?
Yes. Each is a separate tagger in your bookmarks bar. Use whichever matches the conversation.
What happens if I tag a conversation with two different taxonomies?
Each tagger removes any existing ConvoTag symbols before applying its own. If you tag with Classic 🔥 and later click the Kanban tagger and pick ▶️, the 🔥 is removed and ▶️ is applied. You won’t get stacked symbols from different taxonomies.
Exception: Classic supports stacking within its own taxonomy. Within Classic you can have ⏸️❓ or 🔥📄 on the same conversation.
Can I change a tag after applying it?
Yes. Click the tagger again and pick a different option. The old tag is replaced.
Can I remove a tag entirely?
Yes. Run the tagger and select “Remove all symbols.” The title returns to its original form.
Does tagging show up immediately?
Almost always. Occasionally a page reload shows the old title briefly before updating — this is a quirk of Claude.ai’s rendering, not a bug. The tag is saved and will appear after a moment or when you next interact with the conversation.
Can I tag a Project’s conversation?
Yes. You must be in a conversation to tag it. We do not currently support functionality to tag a conversation title from an overall or a Project’s chat history. ConvoTag cannot do magic and does not have telepathy. …yet
Things that could go wrong
I got a 400 error when tagging
Most commonly seen with old conversations using retired Claude models. Other 400 errors usually mean Claude’s API has changed. View Claude’s Status to ensure there are no outages. If you are still having issues, please email support@convotag.com with details.
Claude updated their interface and ConvoTag doesn’t work
Email support@convotag.com. Tagger fixes are usually pushed within 24 hours.
Accessibility
Is ConvoTag accessible with screen readers or keyboard-only navigation?
Not fully in v1. The tagger triggers a browser prompt() which has limited screen-reader integration, and the drag-to-install flow on install pages is not optimized for keyboard navigation.
If WCAG compliance matters for your use case, ConvoTag isn’t the right tool today. Accessibility improvements are planned for v1.1.
Is there a mobile version?
We developed ConvoTag v1.0.0 to be Desktop-specific. You cannot tag conversations using ConvoTag on the mobile app. Some savvy users will figure out how to make this work on their mobile browser. While feasible, we do not support this. Expect the Wild Wild West. However, whenever you use ConvoTag, the tags stay with your conversations afterwards no matter what device you switch to.
